While we operate one of the largest flatbed scanners available, there are still a few limitations regarding artwork size, format, and medium — as well as some risks we're not willing to take.
Size limits:
- We’re unable to scan rigid, stretched, or mounted artworks larger than 600 × 1000mm
- The maximum size we can scan is A0 (841 × 1188mm).
Framed artworks:
- We do not scan artworks in frames and generally won’t remove artworks from frames due to the risk involved.
However, if we do agree to remove a piece from its frame, a $50 handling fee per item will apply.
- For valuable or older works, we recommend having them unframed by a professional framer.
Medium restrictions:
- We may decline artworks with transferable surfaces, such as dry pastels that aren’t fixed, unsealed oil pastels, or oil paint that hasn't fully cured.
- We cannot scan works with heavy textures or three-dimensional elements. While minor texture is usually fine, anything over 3mm deep may cause focus issues
